News: Dramatic Increases in Application/Petition Filing Fees Announced by the USCIS
Dramatic Increases in Application/Petition Filing Fees Announced by the USCIS On May 29, 2007, the USCIS announced a new fee schedule for immigration applications and petitions with substantial increases in almost all cases. The new fee schedule is effective for all such applications and petitions filed on or after July 30, 2007. The USCIS claims that with the increased revenue, it will be able to reduce by 20 percent the average application processing time by the end of fiscal year 2009, and that by the end of fiscal year 2008, it will cut processing items specifically for the I-90 (Replace Permanent Resident Card); the I-140 (Immigration Petition for Alien Worker); the I-485 (Adjustment of Status to Permanent Resident); and the N-400 (Naturalization). The new USCIS Fee Schedule can be viewed at the link below: Click here for more information. Return to News
